About Paddle Time Bro
Paddle Time Bro is a free tool for organising a pickleball session and keeping score, built to be used on a phone at the side of a court.
The problem it solves
Social pickleball has an admin problem. Someone turns up with eleven players, four paddles and a court booked for ninety minutes, and the first fifteen minutes disappear into working out who plays whom. Then somebody keeps score on their fingers and a disagreement in the third game ends the session on a sour note.
What it does
- Splits your group into two teams. An even number gives you two equal sides. An odd number gives you two equal sides plus one common player who fills in for whichever side is short, so nobody has to sit out permanently. You can move anyone between teams afterwards.
- Builds a fair schedule. Choose how many matches you have time for and the running order is generated so court time is spread as evenly as the numbers allow, varying who you partner with and who you play against.
- Keeps score. Each team gets half the screen. Tap to add a point. Undo is always one tap away, and the phone stays awake while a match is in progress.
- Shares the scoreboard. Every session gets a six-character code. Anyone who opens it watches the score update live, so players waiting their turn can follow along without crowding the scorer.
Design choices worth knowing
It works offline. Scores are kept on your own device first and synced when there is signal, because court-side reception is frequently terrible and losing a game's scoring to a dropped connection would make the tool worse than a piece of paper.
There are no accounts. You do not sign up, there is no password, and there is no email to hand over. Open it and start.
Cost
It is free to use and paid for by the advertising on the page. There is no subscription and no paid tier.
